Description
Grown for both its leaf and its fruit. Native to South East Asia; the rind of the fruit is used in Thai cooking in curry paste and the leaves are used as a flavouring. Astringent flavour to the fruit; the bush is quite thorny – be careful when picking. Frost tender – in winter, cover with frost cloth or bring into a protected area. Fertilise with a citrus mix three times per year – early spring, mid-summer and late autumn. Plant in a sunny position, protected from strong winds. Part of Limes family.
